Despite the installation challenges, once the unit is up and running, it proves to be a reliable and efficient cooling solution. Let me share a personal experience to illustrate the unit’s energy-saving capabilities.

I installed the Midea window AC in June 2022, replacing a GE window AC. To my surprise, the electricity bill for that month showed a remarkable nearly 40% reduction compared to the previous month. This tangible result speaks how efficient it is.

The Midea U Inverter MAW08V1QWT is the quietest window air conditioner out of there. This is my one of the favorite window air conditioner from Midea.

Although, this unit has a cooling capacity of 8,000 BTU which is sufficient to cool my medium-sized room effectively. Even during hot summer days, the Midea U Inverter ac unit quickly brings down the temperature. The CEER rating of 15 BTU/H/Watt ensures efficient energy usage, which is great for both the environment and my electricity bills.

One of the best thing of this air conditioner is its remarkably quiet operation. While testing it, I notice a noise level of only 47.3 dB making it is one of the quietest 8,000 BTU window air conditioners.

Apart from the low noise level, its design is also very attractive. It features an unique U-shaped design that helps distribute cool air evenly throughout the room.

However, its installation process is a bit confusing. It literally took me a whole day to set up and test this Midea U Inverter MAW08V1QWT Window AC Unit.

GE Profile AHTR12AC is the the quietest window air conditioner out there with just a noise level of 40dB, which is why this unit is know as ultra quiet window ac, and it would be a great option for those looking for a Noiseless 6000 BTU air conditioner, but it has some really strong downsides.

The GE Profile AHTR12AC is suitable for cooling rooms up to 250 square feet. And it has an Eco Mode that automatically shuts off the fan and compressor, saving energy on utilities.

However, this unit is not efficient. While testing we noticed that it consumed 12.9A, and it was not providing enough cooling.

Previously, the room temperature was 76.7°F and after running it for an hour the temperature only drops by 8°F, that’s too bad.

While testing this air conditioner, I also faced the problem of connecting to Wi-Fi. To be honest, it took more than 15 minutes to connect but just after 2 minutes it stopped working then I gave up because I was frustrated with this.

#3: TOSOT 8,000 BTU for medium-sized bedroom

This Tosot’s 8,000 BTU window ac is for cooling up to 350 square feet space. We tested its cooling performance in a 180-square-foot room and it does a really good job at this. Initially, the room temperature was about 83°F and in 1 hour the temperature comes down to 64.4°F.

One of the best thing of this window AC unit that its noise level is quiet. It recorded a noise level of just 42dB when running on low settings and went up to 50.7dB on high settings, which is still very low.

However, after using this unit for half a year, I notice a hissing and water like sound from this window ac, but it was not annoying or disruptive.

Anyway, another thing that I personally like the most about this unit is its design, trust me its design is super sexy. One of the best part of this unit is it includes a filter cleaning reminder feature. This feature reminds you to clean the air filter every 250 hours of operation to ensure the unit operates at it best.

However, the remote for this unit failed after just 9 months of use. I began experiencing issues with it around the 6th month, and by the end of the 9th month, it completely stopped working.

I think I don’t need to tell you how cool the design of this window unit is. You can see it in the above images. This unit is quite simple and easy to set up as compared to other units in this list, it took me about 25 minutes. However, the AC unit is very heavy. I needed to take help from my friend to set up it.

Talking about its performance, it is superb! We tested it in our test room and after running it for an hour, it reduced the room temperature by 21.8 degrees Fahrenheit, impressive! And at the same time I checked its noise level and it was 51dB.

Plus, it’s Wi-Fi enabled, and offers a mobile app for both iOS and Android. And to be honest, I didn’t notice any issues when connecting it to Wi-Fi, but the options were very similar to the remote.

Needless to say, if you are sure that this is what you are looking for, then you can consider it. In my opinion, this is the best window air conditioner for 350 sq. ft. space.

GE is a brand known for its high quality and quiet operation AC unit, is it right? Definitely! When it comes to ultra-quiet window AC on the market, the GE Serentiy Series AHQQ06LX is counted among them, operate at 43 dB in low settings.

And this unit is way better than the GE Profile PHC06LY and the Haier Electronic ESAQ406TZ. After running it for an hour, we got a temperature drop of about 12 degrees Fahrenheit, little bit impressive!

All aspects considered, this unit is an ideal cooling solution for small rooms. But I notice that the unit does not have strong corners. Other than that, its price is a bit steep, at almost $400, which is not a suitable price point for this unit.

If you are looking for a quiet window air conditioner for large rooms then this LG LW1216ER is a perfect option for you. This 12,000 BTU unit has all the features you’d expect from an LG air conditioner.

It is capable of cooling up to 550 square feet. In terms of noise level, this model from LG works quietly but not quietly as Windmill air conditioner. While testing, I notice a noise level of 54.3dB which is neither low nor loud to be true.

By the way, this window air conditioner is extremely efficient. Generally, in window air conditioners, EER rating of 10 is considered as good, but this LG LW1216ER EER rating is 12.1, which speaks about its efficiency.

Furthermore, the LG LW1216ER is also capable of removing moisture from the air with a dehumidification rate of 3.8 pints per hour. One potential drawback of this LG LW1216ER is its size. At 23.6 x 22.2 x 15 inches, it may not be suitable for installation in all Windows.

Also, It’s pretty heavy. Its weight is 81 pounds, so you definitely need a helper to install it without any hassle.

If you’re in search of a powerful quiet window air conditioner for even larger room, then there is really better option than the Emerson Quiet Kool EARC15RE1. This AC provides exceptional cooling performance, making it a worthwhile investment for your home.

First off, let’s talk about installation. While this unit is super heavy so it will require two people to lift and install. With the accordion slides and proper insulation, I achieved a tight seal, eliminating any gaps or dead air spots.

Now, let’s get to the important part—cooling. This AC is a powerhouse with its 15,000 BTU capacity, and as mentioned earlier, it is made for up to 700 square foot of space, but I installed it in my 850 and it cools its down efficiently. Even on scorching hot and humid days, it kept my space frosty at 58°F.

One impressive feature of this unit is the smart capabilities. Controlling the AC from my smartphone, whether inside or outside the house, was a real fun. However, setting up the network connection took a few attempts, and it is not that easy compared to other models such as Midea U MAW08V1QWT.

In terms of energy efficiency, the Emerson Quiet Kool EARC15RE1 impressed me. My cooling costs only increased by about $48 per month, that’s pretty low.

So in my opinion, if you are hunting for a quietest window air conditioner for large rooms, this is an excellent choice to go.

#8: LG LW1817IVSM

What we like:

What we don’t like:
  • Wi-Fi control may be unreliable
  • Unit is bulky
  • 230-volt voltage requirement

Cooling power for large rooms and energy efficiency make it notable, but the bulky size and potential Wi-Fi issues can be concerning.

When it comes to quiet air window air conditioners for 1,000 sq. ft. room size, the LG LW1817IVSM stands out as a top performer. As an owner of multiple window AC units over the years, this unit is still installed in my 850 sq. ft. space.

The LG LW1817IVSM excels in keeping that space comfortably cool. Even on its lowest cool setting, it really does a nice job of maintaining a pleasant temperature.

The dehumidifying ‘dry’ mode is a particularly intriguing feature, as it turns off the compressor once the desired temperature is reached, saving energy in the process. However, it requires a low 230 volts to operate which might be an issue for you.

The great thing about this LG model is its quiet operation. The variable speed brushless DC fan motor operates smoothly, delivering a pleasant ramping up and down of fan speeds.

Now, let me clear one thing, the unit is considered quiet because there are very few window air conditioners with that much cooling power and such low noise. And also its price is also quite low comparatively.

Furthermore, the LG LW1817IVSM has a sleek and modern design with clean lines and user-friendly controls. While the unit offers Wi-Fi capability, I found it to be unreliable and limited to 2.4 GHz networks, which can be disappointing for you.

Final thought

Choosing a quiet window aircon can be tough. The above-mentioned window air conditioners are some of the best and probably the quietest air conditioners on the market.

All the units mentioned here have been selected keeping in mind all the important factors.

Well, according to me, the Midea U Inverter MAW08V1QWT is the best unit in this list and my personal choice. If you are looking for one, I recommend it.

You can also consider the TOSOT 8,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner and Windmill Air Conditioner if they fit your needs.
